Delivery by alternative means such as rail to ship or ship to rail will reduce the high transportation costs. As transportation needs expand, and result in increasing transportation costs and environmental concerns, Duraport’s multi-modal facility provides a unique and economically feasible answer to our tenants and customers.

This will enable the New York tri-state area to have an alternative to truck transportation, thereby supporting New York City and other State’s efforts to relieve traffic congestion, while enabling builders and developers to achieve Leed® Certification and construct buildings in conformance with “Building Green” initiatives. Delivery by alternative means such as Marine & Rail will reduce the high transportation costs that have been neglected over the years and have been a significant concern to their customers. As transportation needs expand and result in the increasing costs & environmental concerns, Duraport provides an unique and economically feasible answer to our clients and tenants who are required to react to and support the increased demand for products in the Northeastern United States.

Duraport Marine & Rail Terminal has taken full advantage of a specific gap in the North Eastern-U.S. market. The gap exists in the availability and economic feasibility of having a facility available to transfer the importing/exporting of quality dry bulk material, as well as project cargo coupled with logistical positioning out of a northern New Jersey hub to transfer material via barge and rail which will enable the Tri-State area to have an alternative to truck transportation, thereby supporting NYC’s efforts to relieve traffic congestion, while enabling builders and developers to achieve Leed Certification and construct buildings in conformance with “Building Green” Initiatives.
